Prestige Turbo Yeast and Its Applications
This Turbo yeast features a strain of fast fermenting yeast along with an exclusive mix of nutrients that produce vigorous fermentation, producing washes with alcohol strengths between 14%-20% when fermented properly. Unlike some less costly “fancy” fermentation sugars, this yeast can be used with common white household sugar or Castor Sugar instead to create an exceptionally clean alcohol base without off-flavors and off-odours.
These ingredients combine to produce an ideal fermented wash that you can then customize using our selection of essences. Once added to the still, these essences dissolve quickly and produce high quality beverages that rival some of the better known brands.
Turbo Yeast Classic is one of the world’s best selling Turbo Yeast varieties and provides excellent temperature tolerance with a maximum alcohol level of 23% when using sucrose as the sole sugar source. In addition, this batch also contains special mineral absorbents which enhance distillate quality.
Add boiling water to the sachet of Classic and stir until fully dissolved, topping off to 25 liters (6.5 gallons, 26.5 US quarts) using cold water so as to achieve the temperature indicated on your chart. Next add yeast, mix thoroughly, then continue as directed with remaining ingredients.
Fermenters must remain at an ideal temperature throughout fermentation as this allows yeast to convert sugar to alcohol in an efficient way. Failing to do this, your wash may contain too much Sulphur which results in an unpleasant rotten egg aroma and taste in your drink.
